We are a group of community-minded individuals all with an interest in resurrecting St Mary in the Castle.

Mission

To drive awareness and action towards reviving a key landmark of the Hastings shorefront.

We aim to facilitate the re-imagining of a viable, sustainable, community-led future for the building and its surrounds for local residents and visitors to be proud of and benefit from.

What's happened so far?

Drivers Group & comms set up, including local residents, councillors, professionals, artists, business owners and other interested parties.
Meetings regularly held to discuss the constitution and direction of the community group and its aims.
Sub-groups formed to focus on different areas of the project e.g. funding, architectural viability.
Funding secured through Architectural Heritage Fund to collect expressions of interest from firms interested in working on the project.
Interviews being planned with the group's consultation. Action being spearheaded by the group and appointed temporary Project Coordinators.
A blog is being built to update interested parties of further developments. This will be hosted here in due course.
